People didnt really care so much about the eve interaction in the end, however all of us always hoped for so much more and for it to run smooth. (Maybe i always had terrible luck with pc performance but i doubt it, lag was the rule not the exception)
Like everything in life it matters because you how much it matters. When I was a director in Random Gunz we went from 2 districts to 2nd most, many people didn't see any value in it but I fought as much for the value for my friends as the value of my own. I've been playing PC almost everynight for 2 years, the value to me is the friends I've made the laughs we shared. This is the potential all these games have. On EVE people fight because they can control ISK for actual real life currency, If this would have been a bigger deal in DUST I think it would have actually made more money and convinced CCP to invest money in developing this game. But your right that the game never made it up to the potential.
